ブラジルでは、ファベーラと呼ばれるエリアがたくさんあることをご存じでしょうか。ファベーラとは、スラム街のことで、今では観光地化しているところもあり、一度はテレビや雑誌で見たことがある人も多いのでは！？今日は、ブラジルのファベーラについて紹介していきます。

Have you ever heard about favela in brazil? Favela is slam town and nowdays some of them are turist stop so that you may know that from tv or magazine etc. Today I will talk about favela.

ファベーラとは、低所得者達が集まる不法に建てられた居住区のことで、ブラジル国内から低所得者が集まってスラム街を形成した場合や、もともとは中所得者が居住していたが貧富の差が拡大するにしたがっていつのまにか町自体がスラム化してしまった場合など様々。

Favela is the area for low-level–citizins and low-level–citizins gathers to one place then turns out favela or it has used to middle-class area but later changed it to favela because of poverty and so on.

ブラジルでは、貧富の差が激しくほとんどの都市でファベーラが形成され、中には有名になりすぎて観光地化しているところもあるそうです。

In brazil, you can find favela in almost every city because of wealth difference , and actually you can visit some of them as a turist too.

ファベーラは地元のギャングが取り仕切っている事が多く、観光の際は注意が必要ですが、周辺で警察が目を光らせていることもあり、最近では治安が改善されたと言われています。

On sightseeing, you should be more careful than usual because local gang control there but also police look around so its kind a safety there (not always).

しかし、銃やナイフを所持していることもあり、一人では不安という方は安全のためファベーラ散策ツアーに参加することをおすすめします。観光中は、地元の人に敬意を払いながら行動し、顔写真を撮らないなど気をつけていれば大丈夫ですが、貴重品の管理やツアー参加時はガイドの方の案内に従って行動してください。

However some people have guns or knifes and if you feel anxious, better to join a tour and be with local guide etc. You must be respect to residents there when you walk around as a tourist and do not take a picture of them because they are just living there.
