みなさん、こんにちは。元気にしていますか？私は現在南米の小国、パラグアイというところにやって来ております。パラグアイと言えば、ブラジル、アルゼンチン、ボリビアに囲まれた小さな国で、観光名所も少ない為、通りすぎてしまうか、バックパッカーの通り道として有名なところ。今日は、新シリーズ【世界の町中から】の第②弾。そんなパラグアイをの町を旅行して気づいたことを紹介します。

Hello everyone! You guys are all good!? Now I am travelling in small country in south america, Paraguay. The country paraguay is surrounded by brazil, argentina and bolivia and famous for backpacker or just passed by due to lack of turist places. Today’s theme is NEW series 【From world’s town life】. I will tell you what I found in this small country.

パラグアイ人は基本的に、のんびりしていて、親切な人が多いです。ヨーロッパとかだと、何か聞いても立ち止まってくれないこともありますが、パラグアイでは基本的に困っている人を助けるのが当たり前と思っているらしく、そのこともあり、どういたしましてという言葉はないっていっていました。

Paraguayan is very kind and chilling in general. In europe, sometimes people just pass by even if you ask a question, but this won’t be happened in paraguay. It is very natural to help the people who are in need here, so there is no word for “you’re welcome” in thier language.

パラグアイの観光地はいつも閑散としているのが特徴。上の写真は、パラグアイで唯一の世界遺産、ラ・サンティシマ・トリニダード・デ・パラナとヘスース・デ・タバランゲのイエズス会伝道施設群。17世紀ごろ、キリスト教を布教するために建設されたとか。私が訪れたときも、観光客は私だけ。他の方のブログで見たとおり、独り占めしちゃいました。

Paraguayan’s turist spots are always super quiet. The pic above is La Santisima Trinidad de Paraná which is only one world heritage site here. This was built to spread christianity in 17c. I was just alone when I visited. As I saw someone’s blog, I owed here only me hehe.

パラグアイは肉食文化。肉がものすごく安い。日本の半額ぐらいの値段で買えちゃいます。逆に魚介は超高級品。

People eat meat a lot. Meat is super cheap, but fish is so much expensive.

娯楽が少ない、パラグアイでみんなが好きなゲーム。カジノみたいなもので、当たるとお金がでてくる仕組み。みんなお金ほしさに楽しんでいます。

This is the game loved by them because they don’t have many entertainment. This is like a casino, you can get money on win. Everyboday enjoy this for money.

パラグアイの国民食と言えば、チパ。とうもろこし粉でつくるチーズパンのこと。バスの中や道端、スーパーなどで購入することができます。

Speaking of paraguayan food, it’s chipa. Chipa is a bread made of corn flower and cheese. You can buy in the bus, supermarket or just on street.

物価は日本と比べると、非常に安いですが、隣国ブラジル、アルゼンチンと比べるとどっこいどっこい。食べ物や衣類はパラグアイの方が安いですが、電化製品は輸入品が多いので、日本よりほんの少し安いぐらい。

The price here is cheaper than japan, europe or usa but it’s not so cheap if you compare with near country like argentina or brazil. Food and clothes are cheaper but others are same or just a little bit cheaper.

観光名所が少ないアスンシオンで、唯一展示品が充実している美術館「Museo de barro」。古代の品物から現代美術まで、幅広く展示しているのが特徴。しかも、無料。パラグアイの観光地は結構無料で楽しめるところがたくさんあります。

As you know, there is not much to see in asuncion but 「Museo de barro」is must to visit. It has a lot of exhibitions from ancient to contemporary arts. And admission is free. Not much to see in paraguay but most of them are free and nice nature here.

こちらもパラグアイらしい一場面。路上で商品を販売したり、歩きながらこれどう？と聞かれたり、いろんなところでお買い物ができます。

This is also very paraguay. People sell in the street, ask if you want this? With walking etc.

パラグアイの国民的飲み物といえばテレレ。ポットに入れていつでも携帯するのがパラグアイ流。それも膀胱大丈夫かな？って心配するぐらい大量に飲みます。ちなみに左にあるのは、新型コロナの為に設置された手洗い場。どの店にも設置されています。意外と対策がしっかりとされていてビックリしました。

Do you know what’s Terere? Terere is guarany’s traditional drink. People always bring water server with them. They really drink so much like you worry about thier bladder. And look at left side, this is hand-washing area for covid. Every shops has this, otherwise they can’t open thier shop .
